On the afternoon of April 15, the School of International Education held a special meeting on alumni work in Conference Room 1118 of Haihan Building. Pan Guohua from the University Alumni Association and Wu Liu, Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Office, attended the meeting to provide guidance. Members of the college leadership, heads of internal departments and international student homeroom teachers participated in the session.
At the meeting, Shen Yun, on behalf of the college leadership, reported on the basic overview of the School of International Education, the progress and preparation of the Alumni Branch, as well as the challenges and future plans for alumni work. She stated that the college will focus on optimizing the organizational structure, strengthening alumni networks, providing career development support and consolidating cultural bonds, so as to polish the brand of Studying at Haiyuan. During the exchange session, participants put forward constructive suggestions on dynamically updating the alumni information database, improving the alumni working mechanism, launching alumni publicity columns, building diversified communication platforms and organizing online and offline alumni activities.
Pan Guohua fully recognized the achievements of the college’s alumni work and put forward guiding suggestions for future development. First, strengthen overall awareness and mobilize teachers and students to act as cultural ambassadors. Second, take the Alumni Association as the starting point to explore the added value of alumni work. Third, sort out alumni information systematically, build high-quality communication platforms and make solid preparations for the general election. Fourth, inherit fine traditions and successful experience, innovate working methods in light of current trends and the college’s realities, and promote the sustainable development of alumni work.
This special meeting has clarified the direction and goals of alumni work and injected new impetus into future development. The college will continue to steadily advance alumni work, gather alumni resources, spread campus culture and Chinese stories, and make greater contributions to the internationalization and high-quality development of education.
