To effectively ensure the safe and stable study and life of international students in China, the School of International Education held an education conference for all international students in Meeting Room G106, Zhide Building, on the afternoon of December 17. Zhang Min, Deputy Secretary of the General Party Branch, all counselors and on-campus international students attended the meeting.
At the conference, Wang Ting, Director of Student Affairs, delivered a systematic safety education themed Safety First, Compliance as the Foundation. With typical cases, she focused on common fraud types such as SMS and online scams, and reminded international students to adhere to the principle of not believing easily, not disclosing personal information and not transferring money, so as to strengthen self-prevention awareness. In terms of fire safety, she clarified the bottom-line requirements for dormitory management, strictly prohibiting the use of high-power electrical appliances and random wire connection. She also re-interpreted the management measures for the smoke-free campus, emphasizing that smoking endangers health and may easily trigger fire hazards. She called on international students to abide by campus regulations and jointly maintain a smoke-free and safe campus environment. The conference also attached great importance to students’ mental health, encouraging international students to take the initiative to seek psychological counseling support when facing academic pressure and cultural adaptation difficulties.
Zhang Min interpreted the newly issued international student scholarship regulations, encouraging students to study diligently and pursue excellent academic performance. She introduced the four-party linkage initiative for study style construction, requiring all international students to strictly abide by disciplines, correct learning attitudes and attach importance to daily accumulation. She also made arrangements for the upcoming final examinations, calling on everyone to review carefully and take exams with integrity. She stressed that safety is the premise of campus life and academic study is the core of overseas education. She hoped all international students would internalize safety awareness into daily behavior, devote themselves to studies with a rigorous attitude, and spend a safe, fulfilling and meaningful study life at the university.
The conference has comprehensively strengthened international students’ awareness of safety prevention and compliance, and clarified the direction of academic development. It serves as an effective bridge to help international students integrate into campus life and develop good learning habits. In the follow-up work, the School of International Education will steadily implement all arrangements, fully safeguard international students’ study and life, and support their continuous growth and progress.
