To effectively strengthen the safety awareness of international students in China during the summer vacation, the School of International Education held a summer safety education conference on the afternoon of July 11. Counselors, summer duty staff and all on-campus international students attended the meeting, which was presided over by Zhang Min, Deputy Secretary of the General Party Branch of the School of International Education.
At the meeting, counselors first notified several recent disciplinary violations in the college, including falsely triggering alarms without reason, late returns and other behaviors violating dormitory management regulations. They seriously pointed out the potential safety hazards and adverse impacts caused by such violations. The conference emphasized that discipline is the guarantee of safety. All students were required to learn lessons from typical cases, strictly abide by school rules and regulations, and prevent similar behaviors from happening again.
Zhang Min stressed the importance of summer safety. She pointed out that summer is a high-risk period for safety accidents. While relaxing, students must prioritize safety and stay alert at all times to avoid slackness. She delivered a detailed explanation covering traffic safety, fire safety, drowning prevention, cyber safety, food safety, as well as the prohibition of illegal religious activities and illegal employment. All international students signed the Summer Safety Commitment Letter at the meeting, which helped them fully recognize their primary responsibility for personal safety and translate safety awareness into conscious behavior.
The conference further enhanced international students’ awareness of risk prevention and sense of discipline, laying a solid foundation for a safe and peaceful summer vacation. The college will continue to track students’ vacation conditions and ensure their safety throughout the holiday.
