As the winter vacation approached, the School of International Education worked together with the Logistics & Security Office to carefully launch the Green Willow Residence Saturday Kitchen Open Day for international students staying on campus. This initiative aims to care for their diverse dietary needs during the holiday with practical actions.
In the early stage of preparation, the two departments held multiple discussions to conduct targeted research on international students’ dining conditions, dietary demands and holiday arrangements. With the strong support of Sanchunhui Canteen, the first kitchen open day of the winter vacation was successfully held on the afternoon of January 18. Full of anticipation, international students arrived at the canteen with carefully selected ingredients. They spoke highly of the thoughtful service after noticing the Chinese and English labels on all seasoning bottles.
After an afternoon of hard work, a variety of exotic delicacies were made by international students one after another. They warmly invited canteen staff and teachers on duty to taste their dishes. The kitchen was filled with the sweet aroma of desserts and rich curry chicken, creating a warm and harmonious atmosphere that brought warmth to the cold winter days.
At the end of the activity, international students cooperated closely with canteen staff to clean and tidy up the kitchen, restoring it to its original neat condition. This event serves as a vivid labor education practice and effectively promotes cross-cultural exchange and integration. It also allows international students to truly feel the warmth and care of the university big family during the winter vacation.
