To help the 2025 intake international freshmen learn about the university’s history and campus culture, strengthen their sense of identity and integrate into campus life quickly, the School of International Education organized more than 60 freshmen from Laos, Indonesia, Congo, Bangladesh, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and other countries to visit the University History Museum on the afternoon of October 22. Members of the international student management team and teachers from the Chinese Language Curriculum Center participated in the activity.
Shen Yun, Secretary of the General Party Branch, delivered the on-site explanation. Following the historical development of the university, international students systematically learned about its remarkable achievements since foundation through precious historical photos, physical archives and wonderful video materials. They deeply perceived the striving spirit of generations of university members. During the visit, all students listened attentively with great interest. They stopped to watch the exhibits from time to time and exchanged ideas with teachers on historical stories, campus culture and museum collections.
This activity served as an immersive walking course on university history and culture, and built a bridge for cultural understanding and integration between China and foreign countries. It is hoped that all new students will take this visit as a new starting point, inherit the spiritual power of the university, adapt to campus life as soon as possible, improve their Chinese proficiency and professional competence, and act as friendly ambassadors for Sino-foreign cultural exchanges. They are encouraged to convey the warmth of the campus in study and showcase international friendship through communication.
