On the afternoon of December 31, 2025, the School of International Education held the closing ceremony of the 2nd International Student Chinese Culture Festival and the 2025 International Student Commendation Conference in Room 301, Jinghui Building. Members of the college leadership, teachers from the Student Affairs Management Office and Chinese Language Curriculum Center, and all on-campus international students attended the event.

Shen Yun, Secretary of the General Party Branch of the college, delivered an opening speech. She encouraged all international students to learn to bid farewell during cross-cultural study and growth and wait quietly for every warm reunion with beauty; to learn to accept and embrace changes and cultural differences with an open mind; and to learn to set off, keep the courage to look forward, pack up at every end and march towards new starting points. She urged the students to continuously surpass themselves in the new year and act as active ambassadors for Sino-foreign cultural exchanges.

In the first session of the event, student hosts reviewed the wonderful moments of the one-month Chinese Culture Festival. A series of activities including singing contests, calligraphy exhibitions and traditional cultural markets fully demonstrated international students’ passion for and exploration of Chinese culture. The conference announced the winners of each competition in sequence and presented awards to them. During the performance session, the bamboo flute solo by Chinese students and the chorus performed by teacher representatives won rounds of applause.

In the 2025 international student commendation session, Zhang Min, Deputy Secretary of the General Party Branch, presided over the ceremony and read out the list of award winners. The honors included the Jiangsu Government Scholarship for International Students, university-level Merit Student, Civilized Model and Outstanding Athlete. In addition, students with outstanding performance in competitions, literary and artistic activities, labor practice, volunteer services and cross-cultural exchanges were commended and awarded honorary titles such as Star of Excellence, Star of Art, Star of Labor and Star of Volunteer Service. The list of Civilized Dormitories of the year was also released. Zhang Yuanyuan, Vice Dean (in charge of administrative work), presented awards to the winners and encouraged all students to take the awardees as examples, make continuous progress, inspire one another, and write a more brilliant overseas study story at the university.

This event not only drew a successful close to the 2nd Chinese Culture Festival, but also fully displayed the growth and achievements of international students over the past year, further fostering a harmonious, progressive and inclusive international campus atmosphere.
