To help international students better adapt to their study and life in China, and strengthen their awareness of the rule of law and self-protection capabilities, the School of International Education held a rule of law and safety education seminar for the 2025 intake international students in Room 301, Jinghui Building on the afternoon of November 19. The seminar was presided over by Zhang Min, Deputy Secretary of the General Party Branch of the School of International Education. Zhu Jun, Fourth-Class Police Officer of Nanjing Exit-Entry Administration Bureau, was invited as the keynote speaker. All newly-admitted international students of the 2025 intake and teachers of the international student management team attended the event.

Based on years of work experience, Police Officer Zhu Jun systematically interpreted key regulations in accordance with the Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People’s Republic of China and the Provisions on the Administration of Foreigners’ Stay and Residence. The lecture covered visa application, residence permits, accommodation registration, religious management rules and the definition of illegal employment. With in-depth analysis of typical cases, he reminded students to guard against telecom fraud, pay attention to traffic safety and various daily risks, and guided them to abide by laws and regulations and enhance safety awareness. After the lecture, anti-fraud and traffic safety brochures were distributed on site to help students intuitively grasp practical safety knowledge.

Later, Zhang Min elaborated on campus rules and disciplines with real cases. She reiterated the management requirements of the smoke-free campus, and analyzed typical problems concerning attendance and dormitory safety in recent days. She emphasized that all students must strictly comply with relevant regulations to jointly maintain a safe and orderly campus environment.

As an important part of freshman admission education, this seminar aims to help international students integrate into campus life and adapt to local society as soon as possible, and provide solid guarantees for their study and life in China. In the future, the School of International Education will continue to carry out diversified activities on legal publicity and cultural adaptation, support the all-round development of international students, and promote the high-quality development of international education.
