On the afternoon of June 20, themed activity Speak Chinese, Sing for the Motherland was successfully held in the One-stop International Student Community. The event was carefully planned by the team of the college’s college student innovation and entrepreneurship project Chinese Exchange Bar for International Students in China, and organized by Tang Yan from the Chinese Language Curriculum Center.

Integrating patriotism and homeland affection into Chinese learning and cultural experience, the activity delivered profound cultural connotations. Taking the song Nation as the carrier, Teacher Tang Yan led international students to recite the lyrics word by word: One jade and one mouth shape China; one tile builds a home. They say the nation is vast, yet it is but one big family... Through the verses, international students deeply perceived the profound affection for home and country in traditional Chinese culture. Afterwards, Chinese students sang the song together with international students, allowing them to appreciate the rhythmic beauty and emotional warmth of the Chinese language amid melodious melodies. The international students participated enthusiastically. Starting with hesitant pronunciation, they gradually gained confidence in expressing their love for Chinese culture in Chinese, creating a lively and harmonious atmosphere.

Zhang Min, Deputy Secretary of the General Party Branch of the School of International Education, attended the activity and communicated with students. She pointed out that the One-stop International Student Community serves as an excellent platform for Sino-foreign cultural exchanges. The Chinese Exchange Bar for International Students in China promotes Chinese learning and cultural perception through innovative forms. She hoped that a series of such activities would help international students better understand Chinese culture and improve their Chinese proficiency.

This activity is a vivid practice of the School of International Education in strengthening cultural education and deepening international exchanges in international student training. In the future, the One-stop International Student Community will integrate more campus resources and build a long-term communication platform. It will promote in-depth interaction between Chinese and international students in academic assistance, cultural discussion and social practice, so as to integrate cross-cultural communication into daily life.
