Recently, the Good Youth Space in the one-stop international student community of the School of International Education carefully organized a distinctive blue and white porcelain sticker art activity. It invited international students from various countries to immerse themselves in traditional Chinese ceramic culture and experience the profound heritage of Chinese civilization through hands-on practice.
The activity was carried out in a warm and orderly atmosphere. With well-prepared pictures, texts and physical porcelain fragments, volunteers vividly introduced the aesthetic characteristics of blue and white porcelain — plain white background with blue patterns, simple and elegant. They also illustrated its origin in the Yuan Dynasty, prosperity in the Ming and Qing dynasties, as well as the auspicious implications and cultural connotations contained in classic blue and white patterns.
After the introduction, international students eagerly began their creation. Under the guidance of volunteers, they observed porcelain textures, matched color layers and assembled blue and white porcelain stickers. Through pasting and combining pieces, they experienced the timeless artistic charm of blue and white porcelain, understood the craftsmanship and wisdom behind traditional arts, and truly felt the splendid context of Chinese culture.
This activity has built a solid platform for cross-cultural communication and mutual learning. In the future, relying on the Good Youth Space, the School of International Education will launch more distinctive cultural activities to provide diverse and colorful learning and living experiences for international students.
