On the afternoon of April 1, the Chinese Bridge themed activity Elegant Chinese Charm, Melodies Convey Emotions, hosted by the Chinese Language Curriculum Center, was successfully held in Room 100, Jingde Building. International student representatives from Laos, Bangladesh and other countries gathered together. With songs as the medium, they savored the elegant charm of traditional Chinese culture.
The activity selected classic Chinese songs including Jasmine Flower and The Moon Represents My Heart, which combine traditional appeal with contemporary vibes. Teachers Chen Yang and Wu Xueyuan provided detailed explanations and demonstrations on lyric pronunciation, emotional expression and cultural background of the songs. Guided by the melodious tunes, international students experienced the unique glamour of the Chinese language, allowing fine traditional Chinese culture to transcend borders and nourish people’s hearts.
Learning to sing Chinese songs helps me better understand the subtlety and profound emotions of Chinese culture, said Lilin, an international student from Laos, who sang The Moon Represents My Heart affectionately and shared her learning experience. At the event, students communicated through songs. They appreciated the rhythmic beauty of the Chinese language in gentle melodies and perceived the profound heritage of Chinese culture in timeless lyrics, fully interpreting the activity concept of making friends through music and cultivating people with culture.
As a featured brand activity of the college, Chinese Bridge has always taken language as the bridge and culture as the bond. It builds an immersive platform for international students to experience Chinese culture, promotes exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations, and pools youthful strength to enhance friendly exchanges among young people worldwide.
