To effectively strengthen the safety management of international student dormitories and build a safe, harmonious and stable campus living environment, the student management team of the School of International Education, together with campus police officers, carried out a special inspection and rectification of potential safety hazards in No.5 Chengyuan International Student Apartment on the afternoon of January 15.
This joint inspection aimed to identify potential risks in an all-round manner and prevent accidents in advance. During the inspection, counselors, head teachers and police officers conducted thorough and professional checks covering public areas and individual student rooms. They focused on the intactness and effectiveness of fire-fighting facilities in dormitory corridors, the smoothness of emergency passages, and the normal operation of monitoring cameras in public areas. Meanwhile, one-by-one checks were carried out to eliminate potential hazards such as the illegal use of high-power electrical appliances and the storage of controlled knives and other prohibited items inside dormitories.
The comprehensive and detailed inspection showed that the overall dormitory safety condition was satisfactory. Technical defense facilities in public areas were complete and in normal operation. Randomly checked dormitories maintained good indoor hygiene, with no illegal electrical appliances, controlled knives or other contraband found, and standardized electricity use. The campus police fully recognized the achievements of the School of International Education in daily dormitory management, safety education and system construction. They pointed out that the college’s regular safety education and standardized management have effectively enhanced international students’ safety awareness and self-management capabilities, laying a solid foundation for campus safety and stability. Combined with the recent security situation, the police also put forward professional suggestions on winter fire safety and other relevant work for the college and students.
This joint operation with campus police not only further deepened the routine dormitory safety inspection, but also served as an effective practice of the university-police linkage mechanism, strengthening the joint force of safety management. Taking this inspection as an opportunity, the college will continuously strengthen communication and cooperation with the campus security department and police office, improve the long-term safety management mechanism, organize regular safety inspections and publicity education, and eliminate various hidden risks in a timely manner. It will strive to create a safer, more comfortable and warm study and living environment for international students in China.
