To further strengthen the safety awareness of international students on campus, improve their ability to identify and prevent fraud, and ensure their safety and health during the winter vacation, the School of International Education held an anti-fraud and winter vacation safety education meeting in Conference Room 1117, Haihan Building on the afternoon of January 15. All on-campus international students and counselors attended the meeting, which was presided over by Zhang Min, Deputy Secretary of the Party General Branch of the School.

Police Officer Zhang, the campus police officer, was invited to deliver a special anti-fraud lecture. Combining real fraud cases occurring in and around universities recently, he focused on high-incidence fraud types targeting international students, such as online shopping fraud and flight ticket refund and rescheduling scams. He elaborated on common fraud tactics and verbal traps used by scammers, and put forward practical prevention suggestions and safety reminders. He reminded students to stay highly vigilant, never trust unfamiliar calls, avoid clicking unknown links at will, refrain from disclosing personal important information, and contact the school or the police in a timely manner to verify information when encountering suspicious situations.

Subsequently, Wang Ting, Director of Student Affairs Office, gave a special lecture on safety management during the winter vacation. Targeting different scenarios including staying on campus, leaving school and traveling, she gave detailed explanations on traffic safety, accommodation and fire safety, personal and property protection, emergency response and health management. She urged students to arrange their vacation reasonably, strictly abide by national laws, regulations and school rules, maintain regular contact with college teachers, and spend a safe, fulfilling and pleasant winter vacation. All students expressed that they would raise awareness, strengthen self-protection and embrace the winter vacation safely.

The School of International Education has always attached great importance to the safety education and management of international students. In the future, it will continue to diversify educational forms and enrich publicity channels, steadily promote the construction of a safe campus, and fully safeguard the study and life of international students in China.
