On the afternoon of December 22, the English Corner organized by the School of International Education, with the theme of Good Book Sharing, was successfully carried out in Room 309, Jingde Teaching Building. The event was hosted by the foreign teacher, Mr. Royce Mawson, and has attracted nearly 30 students from various schools of JMI.
At the beginning of the activity, Mr. Mawson recommended an original English book titled Frozen in Time to the students. He introduced the author, main content, theme and the reasons for the recommendation in detail, and also read the wonderful parts of the book. Next, he gave students 20 minutes to prepare for the introduction of the books they are interested in. After full preparation, the students introduced the books they would recommended one by one, which included Three Kingdoms, one of the Four Great Classical Novels in Chinese literature, Ordinary World, the excellent work written by a contemporary Chinese writer, the magic novel Harry Potter, and even The Kite Runner, which has been the best-seller in recent years,
After the activity, the participating students have received an anonymous questionnaire. The results showed that they were very satisfied with the pattern of the activity. In the future, the English corner will continue to carry out various theme activities loved by students according to the questionnaire results.
