Established in 1994, School of Information Engineering has been relying on the development of information industry in Jiangsu Province. It has built a training base for software and hardware talents in information industry featuring school-enterprise cooperation, combination of work and learning, integration of teaching and learning, and has trained nearly 5,000 information professionals and technicians for the society. At present, the school has more than 1800 full-time students. It has seven majors, including software technology, cloud computing technology and application, information security and management, Internet of Things technology, electronic information engineering technology, mobile communication technology and mobile interconnection application technology. Among them, the software technology is the key construction major under provincial model college construction project, provincial high-level college construction project and also the school brand major.
The school has a team of faculty with reasonable structure, high professional quality and dedication. At present, there are more than 49 faculty members. Among them, there are 3 professors, 19 associate professors/senior engineers, 2 teachers with PhD degree, more than 90% of teachers have master's degree or above, and the proportion of double-qualified teachers is more than 95%. It has one school-level collaborative innovation center, one provincial teaching team in Jiangsu Province, two candidates of 333 high-level personnel training project in Jiangsu Province, six candidates of young backbone teachers of Blue Project in Jiangsu Province and one young discipline leader.
The school has made fruitful achievements in professional construction, teaching reform, scientific research and skills competition. In the past five years, teachers and students have won the first prize teaching achievement in Jiangsu Province, Silver Prize of Creating Youth National College Students Entrepreneurship Competition, Second Prize of Challenge Cup-Rainbow Life Innovation Entrepreneurship Competition, and national prizes in many skills competitions. Graduates are generally recognized and welcomed by the industry for their solid professional theory, excellent practical skills and strong innovation and entrepreneurship ability.
